Miller Construction was delighted to join Stoke on Trent’s Mayor, Terry Follows and MP Joan Walley to celebrate the official opening of the new Tunstall Primary Care Centre.
The event, which took place on Wednesday 23rd November, marked the next step forward in the delivery of quality health services in Tunstall and throughout the Stoke area. Tunstall and Staffordshire Primary Care Trusts are anticipating the centre will treat around 70,000 patients per year.
The new 22,147 sq ft centre, which is located on the old Alexandra Pottery site on Scotia Road, includes 2 part time and 2 full time GP’s which will serve 5,000 patients, Dental Services, Heath Visiting Services as well as a 5,000 sq ft Boots Pharmacy that was constructed next to the new build. With many more services available, Tunstall Primary Care Centre is easily accessed to and from the City’s Greenway Network and has parking for 241 vehicles.
Head of Stoke on Trent City Council, Mohammed Perves said, “The Centre will make a huge difference to the local people and is an excellent addition to the local area. Now, people will be able to access a wide range of health services under one roof, which will be more convenient.”
The state of the art facility, which opened unofficially in September 2011, has already been helping to deliver a first class range of services to the town.
