The 73,500 sq ft Peckham Academy project included the demolition and refurbishment of half of the existing building with construction of two new state-of-the-art teaching blocks, a sports hall, plus landscaping of recreation areas and modernisation of the school grounds. The rejuvenated facility can now accommodate over 1,450 pupils.
During construction works, the college were still able to provide for 1000 pupils, with temporary teaching accommodation utilised during the construction phase.
The academy now boasts a dance studio, two drama studios, eight changing rooms, GNVQ car workshops, GNVQ hairdressing salon, a new three storey school block incorporating a creche, with classrooms to accommodate students of all courses.
