On the site of the old Ravenscraig Steelworks, we provided Motherwell College with a new £70million, 200,000 sq ft purpose-built campus.

The campus provides the local community with a modern and functional environment and the best quality of education in Lanarkshire.  Facilities include a five-storey teaching block, residential accommodation for 50 students, a workshop block for engineering, conference facilities, a public learning centre, performing arts space and a job shop. A nursery provides 300 places for pre-school children and after-school care.

The residential building has a cylindrical design to reflect the former Ravenscraig Steelworks.  A central plaza provides a social space for students and a pedestrian link connects the buildings.

One of Scotland's largest further education colleges, the institution attracts 20,000 students a year from more than 40 countries, offering courses in sport, social sciences, engineering and beauty therapy.

“The professionalism of the team is to be commended.  Since the start of the project the inclusion that has been extended to ourselves has been impressive and has ensured that we have been playing an active hands-on role throughout the entire process.

“We are certain that the new campus will create a positive learning environment and that it will portray Motherwell College’s diverse offering in addition to attracting more students to study with us.”
