Duration: 140 weeks

Additional Information: Client: Leicester City Council

Part of the Leicester BSF framework, this scheme involved a new three-storey extension and full refurbishment to the existing building.

The new build was logistically challenging as the structure physically wraps around the existing hall, however the school remained operational throughout. The refurbishment involved giving the original period façade new windows in keeping with its style.

The school now boasts state-of-the-art teaching facilities for ITC, Art and Technology.

On completion of the refurbishment, areas of the existing building were demolished, allowing for the development of external teaching and recreational areas to be used by both pupils and the local community.

'A project of this complexity will always generate concern for parents, students and the community. However, a willingness to listen, adapt and react have minimised these.

"We have some proof - our exam results improved over the period of the construction project.'

Michael McPherson, Principal
