Construction Manager of the Year

Construction Manager of the Year 2012

The Construction Manager of the Year awards are open to site-based project managers with overall responsibility for the delivery of any UK construction project; the awards are given to the individuals for their own project management work, not to their projects.

In 2012, five of Miller Construction's site managers reached the CMOY final: Ryan Broadley, Cameron Stewart, Richard Bamford, Martin Bloomfield and Reid Gilmour.

CCS Gold

Considerate Constructors Scheme Gold Awards 2012

The Considerate Constructors Scheme's annual National Site Awards are given to only the highest scoring 7.5% of sites, which have completed in the previous year.

Gold awards were presented to the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Grimsby Institute for Further and Higher Education.

CCS Silver

Considerate Constructors Scheme Silver Award 2012

The Considerate Constructors Scheme awards recognise sites' exceptional standards of consideration towards local neighbourhoods the general public, the workforce and the environment.
Hartlepool College of Further Education was presented with a Silver CCS award at the 2012 awards.

CCS Bronze

Considerate Constructors Scheme Bronze Awards 2012

Sites and companies that register with the Considerate Constructors Scheme are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements.

Bronze awards were presented to Abbey Crest Care Home and Washington Galleries at Wessington Square.

LABC 2012 Winner

LABC Building Excellence Awards 2012 - Best Education Development

Yarm School was recognised as 'Best Education Development' at the 2012 LABC (Local Authority Building Control) awards.

The LABC awards celebrate the essence of good buildings. Finalists are not judged on architectural beauty, but on the "excellence" shown from a construction and technical building control point of view.

LABC Building Excellence Awards 2012 - Finalist

Yarm School was a finalist in two categories at the 2012 LABC (Local Authority Building Control) award - 'Best Community Building' and 'Best Large Commercial Development.'

The LABC awards promote the design and construction of buildings that are safe, accessible and environmentally efficient to comply with the Building Regulations.

BCO Regional award 2012

British Council for Offices Scottish Regional award 2012 - 'Best Commercial Workplace'

The IQ building at Justice Mill Lane, Aberdeen, was awarded 'Best Commercial Workplace' at the BCO Scottish Regional awards.

The BCO awards define excellence in office space, providing public recognition for quality design, functionality and innovation. Its mission is to research, develop and communicate best practice in all aspects of the office sector.

RICS Awards Pro Yorkshire

RICS Pro-Yorkshire Awards 2012 - 'Regeneration'

The Reginald Centre was named as the winner of the 'Regeneration' category at the 2012 RICS Pro-Yorkshire awards.

The Compton Centre was shortlisted in the 'Community Benefit' category at the same awards ceremony.

The RICS Awards mark the annual celebration of built and natural environment projects which demonstrate excellence and a commitment to value for money and sustainability.

SCALA awards 2011

Society of Chief Architects of Local Authorities - Civic Building of the Year 2012

Barnsley College received a Highly Commended award in the 'Civic Building of the Year' category at the 2012 Society of Chief Architects of Local Authorities (SCALA) awards.

SCALA is a collaborative organisation of public sector architects and related professionals committed to assisting its members in achieving the highest possible standards in the development, design, construction and management of the public sector estate.

RIAS award 2012

Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) award 2012

Forth Valley College's Alloa Campus was recognised with a prestigious architectural award at the inaugural Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) 2012 awards ceremony.

The £21 million campus was selected as ‘the very best of current Scottish architecture.’
