Located in the heart of Washington Town Centre, this project comprised two separate elements of work on split sites.

The first part involved the provision 94,800 sq ft of gross internal floor space through the construction of 11 retail units of varying sizes between 5,000sq ft and 12,500 sq ft.  Overgroun car parking for 599 cars and associated external works formed the first part of the contract.

The second element of works included the construction of a new bus station on the site of the existing bus station to accommodate six buses at any time.  In order to minimise disruption, we constructed a temporary bus station to allow demolition of the existing facilities to take place.

Procured using a two stage form, the scheme demonstrates our ability to deliver a single project with different design teams, whilst at the same time integrating with the public, transport companies and a live shopping centre.

"Miller’s staff and sub contractors are all well informed/inducted regarding Galleries rules and regulations and they genuinely operate as a “safe” contractor.

"They have also strongly supported community and volunteer initiatives that the galleries are involved in and they have proved themselves to be a strong contractor who are delivering a project within agreed timescales and as a result, we are now discussing further works with them."
