This Design and Build project created a new Patient Environment Enhancement Scheme at St James Hospital Gledhow Wing, Leeds which improved patient, staff and visitor environments.
St James is Europe's largest teaching hospital and the new facilites created included a hospital retail mall; kitchen; restaurant complete with servery; quality meeting rooms; toilets and a new front entrance and reception, along with associated external works and services.
The works also included the relocation and re-arrangement of the exisiting staff changing facilities.
Due to the busy nature of St James is was essential to the client that Miller Construction delivered the project by isolating and minimising any disruption, noise and dirt; maintained exemplary H&S standards throughout; restricted works to agreed hours and planned a phased completion of the works.
