This design and build development provides 250,000 sq ft of prime hotel and residential space and basement car parking in the heart of Cardiff.
Located on Bute Terrace, the site is confined by major highways and the main Cardiff-London rail line.
The Radisson hotel comprises 215 bedrooms over 21 floors, accentuating views over Cardiff Bay and the city, with suites on the top three floors.
One hundred and eighteen residential apartments are spread over 11 floors, offering extensive roof-top balconies.
The building is supported on piled foundations and the frame is constructed from reinforced concrete with an envelope of cladding wing systems. This Design and Build project was procured using a GMP process.
The envelope comprises aluminium curtain walling, ash clad metal panels, acrylic render and terracotta tiles. The plant room has a paved green roof, inset with mixed shrubs and the roof of the hotel has a gullwing feature oversailing the plant area.
