City of Leicester College Student Sponsorship

Miller Construction has supported a young student on his quest to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) in America, later this summer.

Hassnain Safdar, 16, attends the City of Leicester College, one of the school’s currently being built by Miller Construction through the Leicester Building Schools for the Future (BSF) Programme, was selected by his teachers to attend the annual conference for the leaders of the future.

The GYLC is a unique leadership development program that brings together outstanding young people from around the world to build critical leadership skills in a global context.

Hassnain needs to raise £5,000 to cover the costs of the trip.  Miller Construction was inspired by Hassnain’s ambition and impressed with his sponsorship request, and made a substantial donation towards his fundraising efforts.

Hassnain said: “If I can find the money, I’ll be visiting New York and Los Angeles as part of the conference.  It’s a dream come true to be invited to go but I know it’s going to be tough to find money.”
