This project at Broad Quay created 250,000 sq ft of prime hotel and residential space in the heart of Bristol.

The development involved the partial demolition and regeneration of a series of buildings on a prominent site in Bristol City Centre.

The landmark former Bristol & West tower was retained and converted to a 176 bed hotel for SAS Radisson. The tower was re-clad in glass using a unitised curtain walling system which incorporates the public art contribution whereby the colour and reflectance of the glass are graded to help the tower disappear ‘into the sky’.

The remainder of the site was re-developed to provide 160 residential apartments with 36 Apart Hotel units and 2800m² of A1, A2 & A3 retail and leisure uses, including a Health Club.

The main core of the development utilised the frame of the old “Bristol & West” Building Society.  Piling was installed within the existing basement and a new suspended floor and frame was clad in a variety of specialist glazed systems.
