The Flackwell Heath Campus at Amersham and Wycombe College is being re-developed to create new college buildings and training facilities.

The project involves a number of distinct phases of work which are being carried out simultaneously. The main building within the project, is home to the Construction Skills Centre, and is being both refurbished and expanded. Two further blocks are also being refurbished and upgraded.

The works also comprise the demolition of a redundant tower block in order to create a student social hub as part of a central landscaped area. Additional extensive works form part of the contract to improve the site surroundings which will include new crèche facilities.

Constructed within a live environment, the new build consists of a steel frame, glass curtain walling and concrete foundations, composite cladding and composite steel roofing with block and beam flooring and timber joists. The new building will benefit from automatic doors and a glass artium entrance.

The project benefits from a number of renewable energy solutions, including solar thermal roof collectors and rainwater harvesting.
